Every departure time, where we pick you up, how the pickup window works and what to do if you are staying outside the centre.
Rainbow Mountain is three hours from Cusco and the weather at 5,000m is at its best in the morning, so every departure is an early one. On the hiking plans we collect you between 04:20 and 04:40 and have you back in central Cusco around 16:30. The ATV plan runs four departures — 03:20, 04:30, 06:30 and 08:30 — so you can choose between the best light and a later start. Your exact pickup time is confirmed the day before, once the route is built around where everyone is staying.

💡 Note: the 08:30 ATV departure is the only one that meets at a fixed point rather than at your accommodation, and the only one without breakfast.

04:20 to 04:40 is a window: the route is built the night before around where everyone is staying.
We cover hotels and Airbnbs in the centre. Staying further out, we agree a meeting point in the historic centre.
You receive your exact time by WhatsApp or email. Be in the lobby five minutes early.
Pickup covers downtown Cusco. San Blas, the Plaza de Armas area, Avenida El Sol and the surrounding streets are all straightforward. If your accommodation is in a district further out, or up a street the vehicle cannot enter, we agree a meeting point in the historic centre when we confirm your booking — tell us your address as soon as you book rather than on the night before.
The 03:20 and 04:30 departures reach the mountain in the best light and with the fewest people, which is why photographers take them. The 06:30 is the comfortable middle. The 08:30 is for travellers who would rather not leave in the middle of the night, and comes with two trade-offs: no breakfast, and a meeting point at Plaza de Regocijo instead of your hotel.
The vehicle carries other travellers and has a fixed route, so it can only wait a few minutes. If something goes wrong, message us on WhatsApp immediately — the number is at the top of every page — and we will do what we can.
