Ride an automatic or manual quad from Kayrahuire Alto to the foot of Vinicunca — almost no hiking, four departures a day, breakfast and buffet lunch included.
The Rainbow Mountain ATV tour replaces the hour-and-a-half ascent with a quad ride through the high Andes. From Kayrahuire Alto at 4,450m you get riding instructions, time to practise, and then between 50 minutes and an hour of riding there and back, at a controlled speed, with the Ausangate glacier at 6,384m in view the whole way. The quads are parked close to the mountain and a 3 to 5 minute walk takes you to the main viewpoint, with around 40 minutes to explore. It's the plan for travellers who want Vinicunca without the long climb, and for anyone travelling with limited time to acclimatise.

On the first three departures we pick you up at your hotel or Airbnb in downtown Cusco.
The latest departure meets at the fountain in Plaza de Regocijo and does not include breakfast — have it at your hotel first.
Breakfast with local ingredients in Chirihuani before continuing towards the quad base.
