Both landscapes in one day: 30 minutes riding up to the Red Valley viewpoint, a 25 to 30 minute walk across to Vinicunca, and the ride back down.
This is the plan for travellers who want both landscapes in the same day and would rather arrive under their own throttle. From the parking area you ride roughly 30 minutes uphill to the Red Valley viewpoint, leave the quads there, and walk 25 to 30 minutes across to Rainbow Mountain, with free time for photographs before returning the same way. It is not the no-walking option — that is the Classic quad plan — but it is the only way to see the Red Valley and Vinicunca with barely an hour on foot between them.
The crimson basin of the Red Valley and the striped ridge of Vinicunca, without doing the full hike to either.
About 30 minutes up and 25 down at a controlled speed, single or double quad, automatic or manual.
The day comes with a photo report, so somebody else is holding the camera while you ride.
Great choice — the only route that covers the Red Valley and Rainbow Mountain in the same day, with one departure daily at 04:00 – 04:40.
Ride 30 minutes up to the Red Valley viewpoint, then walk 25 to 30 minutes across to Rainbow Mountain and back.
The classic quad route without the Red Valley: you ride to the mountain and walk only 3 to 5 minutes to the viewpoint.
The Complete route is US$75 single and US$135 double; the Classic route, US$70 and US$130. Automatic or manual, same price.
